Womens Premiers field Youthful Team

Our Womens Premier team is already a young looking team this year but in their clash with Italo Stars on the weekend, with many players out, they brought in three Gr16 girls to help make up the numbers.

All three put in solid performances with Olivia Kerry and Emily Wiltshire holding out the Stars at the back and Mia Casagrande threatening up front many times and coming away with one goal.

The final score was 4-0 to Villa and was a sign of good things to come at Villa with lots of depth in womens and girls football and with our experienced players willing to mentor the young ones.

The photo below shows an attacking play by Villa. Well done girls!

Three Teams in Anzac Cup/Callan McMillan Finals

This year we had three teams in the finals of the Anzac Cup and Callan McMillan pre-season competitions.

This is a great result for the club so well done to these teams! A special congratulations to our Gr16 boys team who came away with a great win in the final (photo below).

The Setup and Canteen Roster is also now available on the left. Please make sure you arrive on time for setup and canteen and don't forget to pack up the field if you are the last team (just ask).

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers this year who keep out club going! Make sure you give them a pat on the back for all their efforts. Have a great season everyone.

2016 Junior Grading Completed

All junior competitive teams (Gr12-16) are now formed and ready to go for the season. Players and coaches have been notified of their teams and training is underway.

A big thank you to all graders who helped over the three weeks of grading and musters! It's often hard to find helpers for this task so early in the season but it's a credit to our valued volunteers to have so many willing to help.

Some junior teams will start games on the weekend of 1-3 April and others on 29-30 April. Check the FFNC draw regularly as it should be ready soon.

We hope all our teams have enjoyable season with a focus on player development and fun!

2016 Girls Stanthorpe Trip

Last Sunday Villa took two girls teams (Gr13/14 and Gr15/16) on a bus trip to Balandean to play some friendly games against the Stanthorpe Football girls. This is becoming a tradition as the Stanthorpe girls traveled down to Alstonville last year.

The girls had a great time on the bus trip which included a Trivia Challenge to be completed over the day. Zoe McInnes was the eventual winner of this comp and took home a new Nike soccer ball!

We were welcomed with great hospitality at Balandean with a free lunch and friendly club members and players. After a few short speeches to welcome us the games got under way.

The teams proved to be evenly matched throughout the day. Each team played two games with the Gr13/14 team (coached by Pommy Dave) ending up with two draws. The Gr15/16 team (coached by Todd McInnes) ended up with one win and one loss.

Before departing at the end of the day, Stanthorpe Football had a brief presentation to thank us for visiting and to hand over some samples from the local wineries! It was a great day with the games being played in a great spirit and we met lots a great people. Thank you Stanthorpe Football!

We arrived home about 8:30pm and all agreed it was a wonderful day. Hopefully this can become a yearly tradition with our friends at Stanthorpe Football.

2016 Senior Players

Please be advised that senior team nominations close shortly. Accordingly, if you intend playing football this year for Alstonville FC but have not yet registered to play in myfootballclub.com.au can you please do so as soon as possible.

Your on-line registration is the only means the Club has to work out player numbers and therefore advise FFNC of the number of senior football teams in 2016.

It is our intention to have the number of teams determined by the end of this week, with divisions then determined together with individual placements.
