Wet Weather Procedure
In the event of wet weather field closures may occur. Villa FC leases fields from council and we have control over field closures. As such we have to make sure the fields stay in good condition and that we make the correct decisions. Closure information for our fields is available primarily on our website and as a recorded message on Councils “wet weather line” (6686 1499).
There are field closure signs at both Geoff Watt and Crawford Park. Please DO NOT train or play on a field that is closed.
If any clubs grounds are closed by 12pm on Friday, the postponed games will be on the FFNC Draw website (sporting pulse). However, if grounds remain open on Friday but heavy afternoon or overnight rain forces closures - the FFNC website will NOT have this information.
In this case, if playing at home, check our website or the BSC wet weather line for our fields status. The BSC wet weather line will also give information about other Ballina Shire grounds.
If playing elsewhere, coaches or managers should use the FFNC Handbook to find the wet weather contact in the club directory and phone them to find out if their fields are closed or not. Sometimes other clubs contact our committee with field closure information so then we will try to contact coaches and managers if we hear something - but this should not be relied on as some clubs fail to notify us.
