GRAND FINALS WEEK 1 2026 – it was the day it was!

4 Junior Villa teams lined up back to back for the final dance!

That ONE last game, a culmination of hard work from coaches and players!

Nerves! Hope! Confidence! Anticipation! Nerves! All on display!

Results: 4/4 runners up!

So how do we wrap that up!?

Can’t short change it, or smoke screen it, it’s disappointing not to win! BUT, not for Villa FC as a club, just for the kids, and coaches.

Especially for 16’s as it’s their last Junior Grand Final and they’ve lost to Rovers EVERY YEAR for the past 3 yrs!

But as disappointing as it is to lose a Grand Final, the fact that you made it there at all is the WIN!! The experience of GF week is something hundreds of other players didn’t get to experience. Training has a buzz to it like no other week, the team chat, the energy, waking up at sunrise on GF day with Hope, and Nerves, and Focus! Looking at the crowd of spectators there to support YOU! You were the STAR of the day regardless of the result.

Today wasn’t the best result for our 4 Grand Finalist teams, I get that! I too have been a coach and player who’s lost a Grand Final! But beyond your disappointment remember:

• YOU got to represent not only YOURSELVES and Villa FC but FFNC as well.
• YOU were the top 32 players and the Top 2 teams in the whole Football Far North Coast footprint! Yes!

Of course – losing a game like that is hard, but the victory is already won in having a chance to Win it in the first place!

Every one of you Villa warriors on that pitch today did your club, your team, your supporters and yourselves proud.

No other single club has spectators in the stands for over 6hrs today! From 8-3:30pm one whole side of OAKES oval stadium was FULL of Red n Black because of YOU.

So Grand Final winners we weren’t! But by far, the achievement of the biggest number of teams represented in a GF weekend for a long time was VILLA!

I am 1000% so proud to be President of a club with that strong a future seeing our Juniors out there today.

You were RUNNERS up for 2026 – THAT’S AN AWESOME ACHIEVEMENT.
